Introduced in 2003 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Submariner, the Rolex Ref. 16610LV, affectionately known as the “Kermit”, has become one of the most recognisable and collectible variations of the legendary dive watch. Distinguished by its vibrant green bezel, the Kermit marked the first time Rolex introduced this colour to the Submariner collection, creating a distinctive contrast against the traditional black dial. Originally a bold departure from the classic Submariner aesthetic, it has since become a firm favourite among Rolex collectors and enthusiasts. With production ending in 2010, well-preserved examples are increasingly difficult to source, particularly those accompanied by their original purchase documentation.
This Rolex Submariner Date Ref. 16610LV features a classic 40mm Oystersteel case with a gloss black dial, applied luminous hour markers and the distinctive larger hour markers associated with the anniversary model’s “Maxi Dial”. Its unidirectional rotating bezel features the iconic green aluminium insert with a 60-minute diving scale, providing a striking contrast to the black dial and stainless steel case. A sapphire crystal with Cyclops date magnifier and the traditional stainless steel Oyster bracelet complete its timeless sporting design. Water resistance was originally rated to 300 metres, reflecting the Submariner’s professional diving heritage.
Powering the watch is the Rolex calibre 3135 automatic movement, offering an approximately 48-hour power reserve. Offered with box and papers, circa 2006. The Kermit has established itself as a particularly desirable modern classic, admired for its anniversary significance, distinctive colour combination and connection to the traditional five-digit Submariner design. Finding examples of this discontinued reference is becoming increasingly challenging, and securing one in such well-preserved condition is harder still. For collectors seeking an iconic and historically significant Rolex sports watch, the Kermit represents an exceptional opportunity. For complete peace of mind, this timepiece is accompanied by our 24 month J. Farren Price warranty.

Condition is assessed in the context of the watch's age. Natural patina and period-appropriate ageing may be present and do not necessarily detract from its grade.
Condition grades relate to cosmetic presentation. Originality, replacement parts, service history and accessories are described separately where known. Please refer to the individual product description and photographs for further details.
