The Rolex Submariner Date Ref. 16610 represents one of the most celebrated generations of the iconic Rolex dive watch, combining traditional Submariner styling with the reliability of modern Rolex engineering. Produced from the late 1980s until 2010, this five-digit reference is increasingly sought after by enthusiasts for its classic proportions, aluminium bezel and understated character, offering an appealing balance between vintage charm and everyday practicality.
This Rolex Submariner Date Ref. 16610 features a 40mm Oystersteel case with a black dial, applied luminous hour markers and a unidirectional rotating bezel with black aluminium insert. A sapphire crystal and classic Oyster bracelet complete its timeless sporting design, while water resistance was originally rated to 300 metres.
Powering the watch is the Rolex calibre 3135 automatic movement, offering an approximately 48-hour power reserve. Presented in excellent condition and offered as a full set, this circa 2003 example was originally sold in Hong Kong, adding an interesting detail to its provenance. As with all vintage timepieces, we do not recommend wearing this watch in or around water, regardless of its original water resistance rating. For complete peace of mind, this timepiece is accompanied by our 24 month J. Farren Price warranty.

Vintage watches
Condition is assessed in the context of the watch's age. Natural patina and period-appropriate ageing may be present and do not necessarily detract from its grade.
Condition grades relate to cosmetic presentation. Originality, replacement parts, service history and accessories are described separately where known. Please refer to the individual product description and photographs for further details.
