The Rolex Sea-Dweller 4000 Ref. 116600 occupies a particularly interesting place in the brand’s professional diving history. Produced for just three years between 2014 and 2017, this short-lived reference was the final Sea-Dweller to retain the traditional 40mm case before the collection transitioned to 43mm. Its relatively brief production run, classic proportions and absence of a Cyclops date magnifier have made it an increasingly sought-after reference among Rolex collectors and diving-watch enthusiasts.
This Rolex Sea-Dweller 4000 features a 40mm Oystersteel case with a matte black dial, applied luminous hour markers and date display at 3 o’clock. A unidirectional rotating bezel with black Cerachrom ceramic insert, sapphire crystal and robust Oyster bracelet complete its purposeful design. Equipped with Rolex’s helium escape valve, the watch offers professional diving capability with an impressive water resistance rating of 1,220 metres.
Powering the watch is the Rolex calibre 3135 automatic movement, featuring a Parachrom hairspring and offering an approximately 48-hour power reserve. Offered with box, card and green tag. Circa 2016. With its short production history, desirable 40mm proportions and traditional Sea-Dweller aesthetic, the Ref. 116600 represents a compelling opportunity to acquire one of the more collectible modern Rolex professional dive watches. For complete peace of mind, this timepiece is accompanied by our 24 month J. Farren Price warranty.
