The Rolex Oyster Precision Ref. 6022 is a charming example of the maison’s early post-war watchmaking, reflecting an era when elegant proportions and traditional mechanical craftsmanship defined the Rolex aesthetic. Dating to the 1950s, this less commonly encountered 9ct yellow gold reference offers a particularly appealing alternative to the brand’s more familiar sports models. With its beautifully aged dial and understated design, it captures everything enthusiasts appreciate about a classic vintage Rolex.
This Rolex Oyster Precision Ref. 6022 features a 34mm case crafted from 9ct yellow gold, complemented by a wonderfully aged cream dial displaying a warm, sandy patina developed over decades. Arabic numeral hour markers reinforce its distinctive period character, while a plexiglass crystal and brown leather strap complete its traditional appearance. The case provides dust protection rather than the water resistance associated with later Rolex Oyster models, reflecting its vintage construction and intended use.
Powering the watch is a traditional Rolex manual-winding movement, retaining the mechanical simplicity and charm of mid-century Swiss watchmaking. Offered in watch-only configuration with accompanying service paperwork. Circa 1950s. With its precious-metal construction, beautifully patinated dial and increasingly uncommon vintage character, this represents a wonderful opportunity to acquire a truly distinctive early Rolex. Due to its age and dust-resistant construction, we do not recommend exposing this timepiece to water. For complete peace of mind, this timepiece is accompanied by our 24 month J. Farren Price warranty.
