The Rolex Milgauss was originally introduced in 1956 for scientists, engineers and professionals working in environments exposed to strong magnetic fields. Its name combines mille, French for one thousand, with gauss, the unit of magnetic measurement, reflecting its ability to resist magnetic fields of up to 1,000 gauss. The Ref. 116400GV revived this distinctive professional model for the modern era, with the green-tinted sapphire crystal becoming one of its defining features.
Presented in Oystersteel, this Rolex Milgauss Ref. 116400GV features a 40mm Oyster case with a black dial, applied baton hour markers and the collection's signature orange lightning-bolt seconds hand. The distinctive green sapphire crystal gives the watch its "GV" designation, while the robust Oyster bracelet completes its unmistakable combination of scientific heritage and contemporary Rolex styling. Please note, there is a hairline scratch on the top left of the bezel on this watch.
Powering the watch is the Rolex calibre 3131 automatic movement, an in-house chronometer specifically engineered with enhanced resistance to magnetic interference and offering an approximately 48-hour power reserve. Presented in very good condition. Offered with box and card. Circa 2021. Covered by our 24 month J. Farren Price warranty.
