Heritage & Design
Introduced in 1988, the Rolex GMT-Master Ref. 16700 represents one of the final generations of the original GMT-Master collection. Retaining the traditional 40mm proportions and distinctive red and blue “Pepsi” bezel, this discontinued reference remains popular among collectors for its classic design and connection to Rolex’s aviation heritage.
Case & Details
This GMT-Master features a 40mm stainless steel Oyster case with a gloss black dial, applied luminous hour markers and a red GMT hand. Its bidirectional rotating 24-hour bezel features the iconic red and blue aluminium insert, allowing the tracking of a second time zone. A sapphire crystal with Cyclops date magnifier and stainless steel Oyster bracelet complete the design.
Movement & Provenance
Powered by the Rolex calibre 3175 automatic movement, offering an approximately 48-hour power reserve. Presented in excellent condition and offered as a full set with box and papers, circa 1998. As with all vintage timepieces, we do not recommend wearing this watch in or around water, regardless of its original water resistance rating. For complete peace of mind, this timepiece is accompanied by our 24 month J. Farren Price warranty.

Vintage watches
Condition is assessed in the context of the watch's age. Natural patina and period-appropriate ageing may be present and do not necessarily detract from its grade.
Condition grades relate to cosmetic presentation. Originality, replacement parts, service history and accessories are described separately where known. Please refer to the individual product description and photographs for further details.
