The Rolex GMT-Master II was developed for international pilots and travellers, evolving from the original GMT-Master created in collaboration with Pan American Airways during the 1950s. Renowned for its dual time zone functionality and distinctive rotating bezel, the GMT-Master II has become one of Rolex's most iconic and collectible professional sports watches. References such as the 16710 are especially prized as the final generation to feature the aluminium bezel insert before Rolex transitioned to Cerachrom.
This Rolex GMT-Master II Ref. 16710 is crafted from Oystersteel and features a black dial with luminous hour markers, complemented by the iconic red and black "Coke" aluminium bezel. The 40mm Oyster case is fitted with a sapphire crystal and paired with an Oyster bracelet, creating one of the most recognisable sports watch designs ever produced.
Powering the watch is the Rolex calibre 3185 automatic movement, an in-house chronometer offering an approximately 50-hour power reserve and independently adjustable local hour hand for effortless travel across time zones.
