The Porsche Design Ocean 2000 is one of the most technically significant dive watches ever produced, conceived by legendary designer F.A. Porsche and manufactured by IWC Schaffhausen. A landmark in tool watch engineering, it pioneered the use of titanium in professional dive watches, combining feather-light construction with extraordinary strength and a minimalist "form follows function" philosophy that remains strikingly modern today.
This Ref. 3524 is crafted entirely from matte sandblasted titanium, including its distinctive integrated snake-link bracelet, creating a remarkably lightweight yet exceptionally robust watch. The 42mm case features a clean black dial with a date display at 3 o’clock, protected by a sapphire crystal and framed by a unidirectional dive bezel. Unlike a conventional dive bezel, the Ocean 2000 employs a sophisticated spring-loaded locking mechanism that requires the bezel to be pressed down before it can be rotated counter-clockwise, preventing accidental movement during a dive. With an extraordinary 2,000 metres of water resistance, it remains one of the most capable mechanical dive watches of its era.
Powered by the IWC calibre 3752 automatic movement, based on the proven ETA 2892-A2 architecture and modified to IWC’s exacting standards, it offers exceptional reliability, precision, and everyday serviceability. Offered in watch-only configuration. Circa 1995. A true collector’s piece that represents the perfect fusion of Porsche Design’s innovative industrial design and IWC’s renowned Swiss watchmaking expertise. Covered by our 24 month J. Farren Price warranty.
